Penjelasan Tentang PLC
PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) adalah suatu alat yang digunakan untuk menggantikan fungsi sederetan rangkaian relai yang ada pada sistem kontrol proses konvensional. PLC ini juga bisa disebut juga sebagai rangkaian relay dengan bentuk compact. Dalam dunia industri, PLC banyak digunakan untuk kegiatan otomasi seperti proses pengepakan, penanganan bahan, sampai dengan perakitan otomatis.
Secara umum, PLC memiliki dua fungsi, fungsi kontrol sekuensial dapat diartikan sebagai penjagaan agar semua step atau langkah dalam proses sekuensial berlangsung dalam urutan yang benar dan tepat, sedangkan fungsi monitoring plant dapat diartikan sebagai proses memantau sebuah sistem (seperti temperatur, tekanan, tingkat ketinggian), lalu mengambil tindakan yang dibutuhkan sehubungan dengan proses yang telah dikontrol tadi, misalnya nilai sudah melebihi batas, atau menampilkan pesan tersebut ke operator agar mendapatkan tindak lanjut yang tepat.
